About Rollercoaster Family Support
Rollercoaster Family Support was set up in November 2014 as a parent support project, run voluntarily by two parents who were supporting their children with mental health, in partnership with Tees Esk and Wear Valley CAMHS. From the beginning, Rollercoaster has been a parent-led professionally supported service, Wendy one of the founder parents continues to drive the work of Rollercoaster today.
Rollercoaster has grown to become a fully funded parent support service, run by a team of like-minded people with lived experience of mental health. Parent Support is at the heart of what we do, offering:

Support groups
(digital and face to face)
Support, information and advice on a range of topics around mental health with Rollercoaster parents and a CAMHS nurse at every session

1:1 Parent peer support
Book a 1:1 with a parent peer supporter, a chance to offload and be supported by one of our parents who has been through similar experiences to you.

Training
A range of training courses for parents and carers supporting children and young people's mental health.

Involvement opportunities
A range of opportunities to have your voice heard and contribute to projects run by Rollercoaster and in partnership with other organisations.

Online Support
Rollercoaster closed Facebook group is a safe space for parents to access support from other parents at any time.

Projects
Rollercoaster is involved in a number of projects on a local (County Durham) and National level and is passionate about mental health.
